Silver Bullet. Watchers. The Lost Boys . These were some of the most beloved films genre fans would grow up on during the 80s and were to become the stuff of ultimate VHS replay. They were fast, fun and soaked in the attitude of the MTV generation, many becoming instant cult classics and landmarks of nostalgia for decades to come. As I'm sure you all know, each of these titles share one thing in common: Corey Haim. The once immensely popular child actor made a name for himself as a naturally charismatic, charming draw card for many teen-targeted films, eventually sharing the screen with fellow actor-friend Corey Feldman in no less than 7 movies and an eventual reality TV series in 2007 entitled The Two Coreys .

However, Hollywood revealed some tragic news this morning after Haim was rushed to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California in a serious condition. Soon after arrival he was pronounced dead, supposedly from an accidental drug overdose, however no illicit narcotics were found at the scene.

The young actor had an unfortunate history of drug abuse and was said to be a cronic relapser, often spending a lot of time with his mother for support during his illness. And while an official autopsy report has yet to be conducted, one could assume an unfortunate regression into old habits could very well have been the cause of his death.

As I'm sure any genre fan would agree, Haim was a talented young actor who has left us with a slew of entertaining performances to enjoy, although he will perhaps best be remembered for his unforgettable work in the Joel Schumacher vampire favorite The Lost Boys .
